September 2008/Brandvlei Maximum Prison

Skoji, Andrew, Alfred, Sibahle, Luyanda & Sibabalo, all Responsibility Coach™ Students with a mission. We want to inspire change and make a difference through Responsible Rehabilitation (RR). Our approach: we walk the talk and inspire others to walk theirs!

THE RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL as Responsible Rehabilitation (RR)

We started the Responsible Rehabilitation (RR) process January 16th 2008 with 16 inmates in the Brandvlei Maximum Prison. Today hundreds of inmates have been part of the programme THE RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL and each day more are inviting change and responsible living into their lives.

In 2011 we are active in Brandvlei Maximum, Medium and Juvenile Prison, Goodwood Medium and Worcester Medium Prison. More to come through the year.

We strongly believe in sustainability and that everything brought to a community must be able to stay and be nurtured within the community for continuous learning and growth / expansion. Our sustainability package for each project includes education of a handful of coaches/guides (inmates), who have a natural calling to guide and who are walking their talk, living by example.

SmilingOne is furthermore offering a Re-Integration programme that since October 2009 has run very successfully in Cape Town - involving ex-offenders in community and youth development.

OUTCOME: My Self Identity

A foundation for the Responsibility Coach™ Education has now been established. Participants can apply for the Coach Student Group and begin the training.
